SOCIAL INTERVENTION PROJECTS
The Theatre Goes to School Project was created by Maria de Vasconcelos with the goal of creating cultural habits in Portuguese schools. She presented shows that would appeal to very young audiences by creating playful, poetic moments that stimulate children’s imagination in a warm and caring atmosphere. Portugal, 2012/2013.
Collaborated with the Association of Remédios do Riso as a Doctor Clown in the pediatric wards of Hospitals in Lisbon, Setúbal and Évora. Portugal, 2012/2013.
Abundance Project, Five classes of primary school were co-authors of the show Abundância (Abundance) being part of the creative process since the beginning. A coproduction Próxima Estação Teatral and Teatro Municipal Maria Matos. Lisbon, Portugal, 2011.
Instructor of Theatre of the Oppressed (Teatro do Oprimido - Augusto Boal e Paulo Freire methodology) for children in camps for Peace Education organized by Xandobela. Galicia, Spain, 2008.
A History to continue (“Uma História para Continuar”) with primary schools of the city of Fundão which resulted in the show No Man's Land (“Terra de Ninguém”). The goal was to involve children in the creation of the play making suggestions about its end, title, poster, etc. ESTE, Fundão, Portugal, 2008.
MUSEpe Association Menuhin Portugal and Programa escolhas. Muse is a European project developed in schools considered at risk where multiculturalism is a reality. The aim is to find ways to stimulate cognitive activity and the ability of concentration and integration of children through art (music, visual arts, dance and theater). This was a Project attended by Pim Teatro. Évora, Portugal, 2006/2007.
Além-Grades (Beyond the Grid): A Project of Pim Theatre Company in partnership with the University of Evora and the Evora regional prison. Além-Grades was a working process program through art with convicts (visual arts, music, theater and dance), Évora, Portugal, 2006/2007.
Theatre for Seniors (Teatro na Terceira Idade): Personal project developed with the support of Pim Theatre, University of Évora and Santa Casa da Misericórdia. This Project was inspired by the pedagogy of Theatre of the Oppressed (Teatro do Oprimido - Augusto Boal e Paulo Freire methodology) allied to the Physical Theatre (Jacques Lecoq method). A group of seniors, accompanied by two teachers and a psychologist, aimed at creating a show based on his memories and dreams. Évora, Portugal, 2006/2007.
